Environmental Justice

Environmental justice is at the core of both the work of the Church and the world at large. As the social justice arm of the Church, CCJP Lilongwe’s mandate is founded on the Catholic Social Teaching and the spirituality of justice and peace and integrity of creation. Peace, human rights and ecology are at the core of the Commission’s work. Through the implementation of environmental justice interventions, CCJP Lilongwe has mainstreamed the dissemination of the Land Act and other environment pieces of legislation and policy in various projects so as to feed directly into achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 7, 11, 13 and 14 at global level while responding to Key Priority Area 1 of the Malawi Growth and Development Strategy (MGDS) 3 locally.
